Brick and block layer wanted in Jackson County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Jackson County, Illinois. You will work on a scaffolded high-rise site. Your main tasks: • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings Requirements: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
