Great opportunity: gardener (Illinois)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a gardener in McLean County, Illinois. You will be based in a botanical garden. Your main tasks: • Rake up fallen leaves, grass clippings and garden waste • Spray pesticides and fungicides to control pests and disease • Operate strimmers, leaf blowers and brush cutters • Plant seasonal bedding plants, bulbs and saplings • Maintain compost heaps and the potting shed • Prune hedges, shrubs and ornamental trees with secateurs and hedge trimmers Ideal candidate: • Able to safely operate mowers, strimmers and hedge trimmers • Pesticide spraying certificate (PA1/PA6) an advantage • Previous experience as a gardener or in grounds maintenance Part-time with flexible hours.
