On a typical shift you will work out the load weight and the lifting radius; climb and inspect the tower crane mast and tie-ins; park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift; fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure; set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground; watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity.
