Now hiring: we are hiring a gardener in Monroe County, Florida. You will work in a botanical garden. The role involves: • Rake up fallen leaves, grass clippings and garden waste • Check and adjust sprinkler timers and irrigation heads • Spray pesticides and fungicides to control pests and disease • Repot nursery stock and pot on cuttings • Maintain compost heaps and the potting shed • Weed flower beds and borders by hand and with a hoe Requirements: • Good knowledge of common plants, shrubs and seasonal planting • Physically fit for bending, lifting and long hours outdoors Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. $2,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
