Now hiring: we are hiring a laundry presser in Malda District, West Bengal. You will be based at a textile finishing unit. Day to day you will set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing. Ideally you have able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine; sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings; a keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases.
