Vacancy available: furnace operator (Texas)

Now hiring: we are hiring a furnace operator in Cameron County, Texas. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. Pay around $3,800 per month, based on your experience. Contact us to fix an interview.
