Immediate opening: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Waller County, Texas. You will work in a supermarket meat department. The role involves: • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts Requirements: • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
