Join our team: we are hiring a confectioner in Dickenson County, Virginia. The job is at a café with an on-site bakery. Day to day you will knead and develop dough by hand and in the spiral mixer; keep work surfaces and equipment clean to food-safety standards; boil sugar syrup for glazes and icing; proof and fry doughnuts, then glaze them; score the top of loaves before baking. What we are looking for: • 2+ years' experience as a baker • Familiar with deck, rack and convection ovens Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Overtime paid at a premium rate. $5,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
