Vacancy available: we are hiring a shuttering carpenter in Lau, Taraba State. The job is in a bespoke joinery workshop. Requirements: • Good eye for detail and a clean finish • CSCS card for site-based work an advantage • Accurate to fine tolerances on finish work Your main tasks: • Cut mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joints with chisels and a mallet • Glue, clamp, screw and dowel joints together • Build and erect roof trusses, rafters and stud partitions • Plane and sand timber to a smooth, square finish • Apply edge banding, veneers and laminate to board • Measure and mark out timber using a tape, square and marking gauge Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
