Immediate opening: we are hiring a retail butcher in DeKalb County, Illinois. Your main tasks: • Season and marinate meat on request • Keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled • Weigh, price and label cuts for the display case • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts What we are looking for: • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required 3+ years on the tools preferred.
