Now hiring: we are hiring a mobile crane operator in Thomas County, Georgia. The job is in a warehouse fitted with overhead cranes. Day to day you will watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity; keep a safe distance from overhead power lines; help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone; work out the load weight and the lifting radius; follow hand signals and radio calls from the banksman or slinger; rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams. You should have: • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • A good head for heights for tower crane work Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
