Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in Washington County, Oregon. You will work at a renovation and extension job. What we are looking for: • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day The role involves: • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
