On a typical shift you will remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics. You should bring sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings; comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment; able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine.
