Gtaw welder — Jefferson County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Jefferson County, Illinois. The job is in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. You should have: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) Day to day you will clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Meals and transport allowance provided. Full-time, day shift. Contact us to fix an interview.
