Now hiring: we are hiring a TIG welder in Jasper County, Illinois. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. On a typical shift you will weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent. What we are looking for: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection 2+ years on the tools preferred. $27 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
