Tig welder — Tompkins County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a tig welder in Tompkins County, New York. You will work on an industrial construction site. The role involves: • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode You should have: • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Full-time, day shift. Performance bonus on top of base pay. We offer $260 per day plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
