Brick and block layer • Jones County, Texas

Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Jones County, Texas. The job is on a busy housing site. Ideal candidate: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools Day to day you will cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation. At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Full-time with occasional weekends. Share your details and we will call you back.
