The role involves take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points; deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors.
