The role involves: • Cut and fill ground to the levels marked on the grade stakes • Form embankments and batter slopes to the required angle • Strip topsoil and stockpile it for later reuse • Clear land of trees, stumps and debris before earthworks begin • Work to the dig plan and the banksman's signals You should have: • Comfortable working long shifts in dust, heat and uneven terrain • Good understanding of cut-and-fill and batter slopes Rotating shifts. $3,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
