Requirements: • ITI or diploma in refrigeration / RAC trade • Physically fit to lift compressors and carry ladders The role involves: • Recover refrigerant gas before opening a sealed system • Measure the compressor motor's amperage draw with a clamp meter • Trace leaks with an electronic detector and soap solution • Braze copper pipework and joints with an oxy-acetylene torch • Charge systems with refrigerant (R134a, R410a, R404a) to the correct weight Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. $10,000 per project, negotiable for the right hands.
