Vacancy available: we are hiring a steel fixer in Halifax County, Virginia. Requirements: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules The role involves: • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings Six days a week, one day off.
