Now hiring: we are hiring a pressman in Floyd County, Iowa. You will work at a textile finishing unit. Day-to-day duties: • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching • Meet the daily piece target without damaging garments • Check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics You should have: • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • 1-2 years' experience pressing garments in a factory Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
