Great opportunity: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Calvert County, Maryland. You will be based at a precision engineering workshop. What we are looking for: • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height Your main tasks: • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal Full-time, day shift. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. $3,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
