Steel erection rigger • Brighton and Hove, England

We are recruiting: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Brighton and Hove, England. Day-to-day duties: • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position Requirements: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. £130 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
