Day-to-day duties: • Locate and repair gas leaks and replace corroded pipe sections • Braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints • Connect combi boilers, water heaters and gas cookers to the supply • Fit flexible connection hoses and bayonet fittings to the appliances • Check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray You should have: • Sound knowledge of gas safety regulations and pressure testing • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders • Competent in pipe threading, brazing and PE electrofusion 5+ years on the tools preferred.
