Now hiring: we are hiring a lifting rigger in Richmond County, North Carolina. You should have: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Confident with standard crane hand signals Your main tasks: • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
