Immediate opening: argon welder (England)

We are recruiting: we are hiring an argon welder in Milton Keynes, England. You will work in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. The role involves clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp. You should have: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. Pay around £16 per hour, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
