Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Mercer County, New Jersey. On a typical shift you will lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust; assemble column and beam cages on the bench; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules Rotating shifts.
