Tailor machinist — San Miguel County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a tailor machinist in San Miguel County, New Mexico. Requirements: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams The role involves operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
