Gtaw welder — Southeast Fairbanks Census Area

Now hiring: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Southeast Fairbanks Census Area, Alaska. You will be based on an industrial construction site. You will select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); carry out 6G pipe welds where required; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle. What we are looking for: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew.
