Halal butcher — Gloucestershire

Great opportunity: we are hiring a halal butcher in Gloucestershire, England. The job is at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. On a typical shift you will sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone; keep HACCP hygiene records and sanitise the block and tools; mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder; debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights. Requirements: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • 2+ years experience working as a butcher • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
