Great opportunity: foundry operative (Virginia)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in City of Norfolk, Virginia. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. What we are looking for: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts You will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges.
