You should have: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces On the job you will handle: • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal Six days a week, one day off.
