Furnace operator • Franklin County, North Carolina

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a furnace operator in Franklin County, North Carolina. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. What we are looking for: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings The role involves: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Part-time with flexible hours.
