Great opportunity: we are hiring a steam press operator in Fairfax County, Virginia. Requirements: • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings The role involves shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; give each garment a final press before packing; hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts.
