Requirements: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to pass a weld test on the spot On a typical shift you will sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run.
