Immediate opening: metal caster (Kansas)

Now hiring: we are hiring a metal caster in Sherman County, Kansas. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Your main tasks: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture You should have: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor $4,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
