We are recruiting: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Sunderland, England. You will be based in a small denim manufacturing unit. On a typical shift you will trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges. You should have: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
