Great opportunity: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Marion County, South Carolina. Day to day you will topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go. Ideal candidate: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time with occasional weekends. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. $19 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
