Vacancy available: we are hiring a vertical transportation technician in Knox County, Tennessee. You will be based in a residential tower block. Your main tasks: • Fill in the service logbook and statutory inspection paperwork • Rope up the traction machine and reeve the hoisting cables • Replace worn sheaves, rollers, contactors and relays • Measure rope tension and check for broken strands • Respond to entrapment call-outs and release trapped passengers • Install guide rails, brackets and counterweight frames in the hoistway You should have: • Willing to join the on-call/emergency breakdown rota • Comfortable working at height and in confined hoistways Part-time with flexible hours.
