Vacancy available: we are hiring a pastry baker in Alleghany County, North Carolina. You will work at a café with an on-site bakery. On a typical shift you will laminate puff and croissant dough by folding in the butter; shape loaves, rolls, baguettes and buns by hand; check finished products for colour, crumb and weight; monitor oven temperature and baking time for each batch; keep work surfaces and equipment clean to food-safety standards; boil sugar syrup for glazes and icing. What we are looking for: • Able to work early-morning and night shifts • Understanding of food-safety and HACCP basics • Able to stand for long hours in a hot kitchen Full-time, day shift. $3,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
