Great opportunity: we are hiring a brick mason in Wapello County, Iowa. The job is on a commercial construction site. Day to day you will setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays. Ideal candidate: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day 5+ years on the tools preferred.
