Now hiring: we are hiring an escalator technician in Wise County, Virginia. The job is at a shopping mall with escalators and lifts. Your main tasks: • Top up the oil and bleed the cylinder on hydraulic lifts • Adjust door operator timing and re-levelling accuracy • Replace worn sheaves, rollers, contactors and relays • Run load and overload tests with test weights • Wire up the controller, encoder and limit switches • Install guide rails, brackets and counterweight frames in the hoistway What we are looking for: • Good head for heights for pit and car-top work • Ability to read electrical and wiring schematics • 2+ years on lift installation and maintenance Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
