Great opportunity: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Thomas County, Kansas. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Day-to-day duties: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture Six days a week, one day off.
