Immediate opening: trainee butcher (Iowa)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Grundy County, Iowa. The job is in a meat processing plant. On a typical shift you will take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; stuff and link fresh sausages with casings; mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts. Ideal candidate: • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required We offer $4,800 per month plus benefits. Performance bonus on top of base pay.
