Now hiring: aluminium TIG welder (Kansas)

Immediate opening: we are hiring an aluminium TIG welder in Nemaha County, Kansas. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Day to day you will grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise. You should have: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection 2+ years on the tools preferred.
