Lift mechanic — Lower Connecticut River Valley Planning Region

Immediate opening: we are hiring a lift mechanic in Lower Connecticut River Valley Planning Region, Connecticut. Your main tasks: • Rope up the traction machine and reeve the hoisting cables • Replace worn sheaves, rollers, contactors and relays • Run load and overload tests with test weights • Measure rope tension and check for broken strands • Set and test the overspeed governor and safety gear You should have: • ITI in electrical/mechanical or an equivalent trade certificate • Comfortable working at height and in confined hoistways • Ability to read electrical and wiring schematics At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
