Pipe tig welder — City of Roanoke

Great opportunity: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in City of Roanoke, Virginia. You will work at a stainless steel fabrication shop. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium On a typical shift you will weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters.
