Immediate opening: sheet metal welder (Iowa)

Now hiring: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in Palo Alto County, Iowa. The job is in a stainless steel kitchen-equipment unit. On a typical shift you will TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run. Ideal candidate: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. $5,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
