Immediate opening: foundry operative (South Dakota)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry operative in Harding County, South Dakota. You will work at an aluminium die-casting plant. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Day-to-day duties: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle 1+ years on the tools preferred.
